Aratoro Wildlife Restoration Project

A community based initiative started by Asher Wallace, Director of Apex Predator Control Limited (where the well-being of your Ngahere is a easy as APC) aka The Cheeky Plucker with a solid vision of working alongside Iwi, NRC, DOC, landowners, environmental departments, Kiwi Coast, Kiwi's for Kiwi and volunteers to implement and maintain a pest eradication program and monitoring systems within the Aratoro Reserve and surrounding area. Managing our Ngahere like this, as shown with many other similar projects already well established around Aotearoa/ New Zealand will:

 - Promote broader biodiversity within the reserve.

- Preserve and uphold the cultural significance of the area.

- Establish clear corridor's around the Aratoro Reserve for Kiwi to travel freely without fear of predation. 

-- Protect existing Kiwi populations 

- Collect crucial data on pest and wildlife numbers within the Reserve and surrounding properties. 

- Align with the goals of Predator Free 2050 

- Connect local people to their local forest.

 - Inspire others

But most importantly

 - Leave a legacy for the future.
