Tara iti Ecological Sanctuary

The Tara Iti Ecological Sanctuary aims to protect and enhance the sites indigenous flora, fauna and ecosystems, in a manner which encourages and allows for the recolonisation and reintroduction of species that have been lost to the area. 

The Tara Iti Ecological Sanctuary (TIES) aims to achieve nationally significant conservation gains within a multi-use landscape, whilst promoting education and advocacy on conserving New Zealand’s indigenous species.
