Kelburn Conservation Network
The Kelburn Conservation Network was established in 2020 to oversee a residential trapping programme in the central Wellington suburb of Kelburn. Clearing predators from this suburb is critical given Kelburn's proximity to key conservation areas (such as Zealandia), as the host to the Wellington Botanic Gardens and Pukehinau reserve, and as an ecological stepping stone to the central city. New volunteers / trappers and coordinators are eagerly sought.
While the primary focus of the Network is to implement a residential trapping programme, it will also be a mechanism for sharing information on local conservation activities and events.
