Aka Aka

The Aka Aka project is the formalisation of individual efforts among landowners to restore the native bush valleys, and wetlands in the Aka Aka area.

The area is significantly important for it's wetlands, and it taunga species such as Australasian Bittern, Long tail bat / Pekapeka tau-roa, Kakak, Kereru, Tūi, etc.

We are a project upheld by Awaroa Ki Karioitahi Landcare. We are proud to have the ongoing support of Ngaati Te Ata, AC, WRC, DOC, and QEII.
