Makirikiri Reserve

With initial support from Our Land & Water National Science Challenge, this mahi aims to compare E. coli from pest species (possums, mustelids, rats, mice, hedghogs) with E. coli from the environment (e.g. water, sediment, biofilm, etc.). Traps (Timms, A12 and A24) will be monitored by mana whenua and carcasses processed at the Hopkirk Research Institute to isolate E. coli from pest gut contents. Traps will be gifted to Te Kauru at the end of the project.
