Kaikohe Scenic Reserve Wildlife Restoration Project

A community based initiative started by Asher Wallace, Director of Apex Predator Control Limited (where the well-being of your Ngahere is a easy as APC) aka The Cheeky Plucker with a solid vision of working alongside Iwi, NRC, DOC, landowners, environmental departments, Kiwi Coast, Kiwi's for Kiwi and volunteers to implement and maintain a pest eradication program and monitoring systems within the Kaikohe Scenic Reserve and surrounding area. Managing our Ngahere like this, as shown with many other similar projects already well established around Aotearoa/ New Zealand will:

 - Promote broader biodiversity within the reserve.

-Preserve and uphold the cultural significance of the area.

- Establish clear corridor's around the Kaikohe Scenic Reserve for Kiwi to travel freely without fear of predation. 

-- Protect existing Kiwi populations 

- Collect crucial data on pest and wildlife numbers within the Reserve and surrounding properties. 

- Align with the goals of Predator Free 2050 

- Connect local people to their local forest.

 - Inspire others to do the same

But most importantly

 - To leave a legacy for the future.
