Whangawehi Catchment Management Group

The Whangawehi Catchment Management Group is a unified body of stakeholders including marae, agencies and school representatives, working together to better manage land and water and also co-ordinate environmental work and education in the community. Based in Mahia, the group has already retired 56 ha of riparian margins and established 155 000 native trees. Pest control has become a key element in our community's aspirations.
