The Karioi – Maunga ki te Moana: Mountain to the Sea project is a community led conservation project, run in partnership with A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand, Te Whakaoranga O Karioi, Whaingaroa Environment Centre, members of the local hapu, the Department of Conservation, Waikato Regional Council and the Whaingaroa Community.

Kawakawa Bay Trapping

The Trap line will pretty much go along the farm boundary and the Kawakawa Mountain Bike trail, from Whangamata Road the line will follow the Orakau Stream down to the bay one trap line will follow the boundary the other will run along side the Kawakawa Bay Track through to the Camp site the trap line will then travel back to whangamata Road following the farm boundary.

Kerikeri Peninsula Pest Control involves landowners from Opito Bay westward to Rangitane, and north to Crowles Bay on the Kerikeri Peninsula, incorporating Ake Ake Reserve, Rangitane Reserve, and private lands in between. This project has been established to restore biodiversity values on 1200 hectares of public and private land on the Kerikeri Peninsula.
